Donald Trump wants Christians to save his disastrous presidency at the polls this November. Instead, we will send a different message: Not this time, Mr. President. Not our Vote. Not our Faith. You can’t have it.

Every day between now and the election, we’ll be highlighting an aspect of President Trump’s record and the impact he’s had on this country. Share this information to explain to your friends, family AND those you influence WHY you will not be supporting Donald Trump this November.

Trump has been toxic for our politics. Toxic for our churches and communities.

His entire time in public life, Trump has been  one of the greatest purveyors of debauchery, greed and immorality. This has continued into his presidency, and it won’t stop until we elect to replace him.

"The impeachment hearings have illuminated the president’s moral deficiencies for all to see. This damages the institution of the presidency, damages the reputation of our country, and damages both the spirit and the future of our people. None of the president’s positives can balance the moral and political danger we face under a leader of such grossly immoral character.”

Today's Topic: Health Care

Donald Trump vowed to immediately repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) in 2016. Four years later, he still has not produced a viable plan to replace it. Meanwhile, he is still attempting to repeal it in the midst of a global pandemic, which would cause millions of Americans to lose their healthcare coverage.

Trump’s Record

“President Trump released his budget for FY 2021 calling for deep cuts to Medicaid and the elimination of the Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) program. These budget actions would undermine the health of children and the future of our nation. Children’s hospitals—on behalf of the patients and families we serve—call on Congress to strengthen our investment in children’s health rather than cut back on our commitments to our children’s future.”

“Republicans have long said their goal is to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act but have yet to agree on an alternative. They are bracing for the possibility that the effort to overturn the health law will cost them. Joel White, a Republican strategist, said in a recent interview that he considered it “pretty dumb to be talking about how we need to repeal Obamacare in the middle of a pandemic.”

“Even if your priority is preventing abortion, you cannot as a Christian ignore the millions of people who will lose coverage and care under the Obamacare replacement that House Republicans have been rushing to implement, with President Trump's support. Not everyone who loses care will die, of course, but tens of thousands (at least) will die, and mental and physical suffering will increase for many more.

Christians mustn't ignore the political battle now under way over Obamacare replacement. Christians mustn't bless an Obamacare replacement that callously ignores the needs of the poor and sick. Christians who voted for Trump should be incensed not only because the new plan ignores the basic tenets of their faith. They also should be angry at being duped. Candidate Trump, you remember, promised that everyone would be covered. He promised that health care would be better and cheaper.”
